All Access is reporting that he joins Clear Channel's struggling giant, which is fending off a challenge by Entercom's WPAW. Hey Jeff, buy those cheap watches, so that when you smash them in a tirade, it's no great loss.

Funny how a guy's reputation follows him throughout his career! Time will tell whether his time in Charlotte taught him a lesson.
 
Jeff Roper is actually a great guy so i don't know why everybody is always hating on him. i think most people are just jealous that he is so great and they just want to be like him, so they talk about the guy. please don't knock the guy until you see what he does in greensboro.

Must be a friend of the "complainant". I've known Jeff since '89. (I've known the person who replaced the "complainant" since '96.)

Jeff's a real talent and a decent guy. If he broke any watches in a tirade, the other party probably deserved it. So how about a little restraint if you don't know the real story.
 
We've all seen it before. IF he wasn't any good, no one would say anything. Jealous, and insecurity are the motivators. Got to tell it like it is. Usually when there is a 'black balling' going on, it's cause they are good, and others can't stand it. IF he wasn't very good, you'd never hear anything.

I saw him earlier this year, AWESOME that we all know him!!

The sad thing about Roper is that he CAN be a really good guy and then the tortured genius bit takes over and everyone is out to get him, no one understands him, others are hard to work with. Get over yourself.

I feel let down, and I'm glad that some of you don't feel that towards him. A LOT of people do.
 
Honestly, can you actually say that any true talent doesn't have some issues? After thirty years in programming, experience tells me this guy is par at worst. Lighten up.
 
Let's play a game: Everyone guess how many co-hosts he goes through in the first year?
I say a minimum of three.
 
I love the comment about walking on eggshells. ;) I think life in general is walking on eggshells now. Non-stop BS! Regarding Roper, I really wonder if he is voice tracking Winston-Salem. I do know he is voice tracking some other stations, and he owns 94.1 near Greenwood.
 
It really makes me wonder and there were quite a few of us that were really happy to see him leave Columbia and it seemed like the only co-host that could put up with him here was his wife and she new which buttons to push with him and delighted in doing so on the air.
