Former Y-100 Jock Laments Decline Of Rock Radio On FM

Before hosting afternoon drive on Chicago's Q101 for half a decade, "Electra" had worked the evening shift on now-defuct Y-100.

"I was 24 when I first lost my job as a radio DJ," she writes. "I was 30 when it happened again. In both cases, my employers changed the stations’ formats."

Q101 in Chicago is now "FM News 101.1" owned by Merlin Media.
