Still, who really needs to waste time watching the telecast of the Emmys when they can just get the results when they are over.
"Wow. In my world the Emmys aired on Fox, NOT Fox News. You know Fox--they brought us such right-wing propaganda as "The Paris Hilton Slut Spectacular," or was that called something else? Fox also had "Temptation Island" where married couples were encouraged to commit adultery. The list goes on and on. Too bad these right wing reactionaries are forcing their "whore-a-rific" morality down your throat."
Every time somebody in a thread talks about how right-wing Murdoch is, and then states that it's somehow hypocritical, or inconsistent with the salacious programming on Fox - I feel it my duty to remind people that Murdoch made his fortune (way pre-Fox) with sensationalist tabloid newspapers in Great Britain that featured bare-breasted women in every issue.
Yes - right wing Republicanism in the old US of A is general synonymous with the religious right, but that's not necessarily true in the rest of the world, and Murdoch is Australian.
In an interview once, Murdoch stated (with a sly grin) that he was not as conservative as people thought. He saw a need for a right-wing news network, and he filled that need with Fox News. It's all about making money, that's all.
Meanwhile, on Fox, he makes money running programming with content that pushes the envelope of good taste. But like all networks, Fox worries about FCC fines, so they censor profanity these days. Not a surprise.

Frankly I'm surprised that anyone watches the Emmy's. Who wants to listen to those folks pontificate about whatever their favorite cause is for the year be it political or not. It seems most Hollywood folks have an opinion about something, just as most "regular" folks do. The difference between them and the rest of us is they get to monopolize expensive television time or concert time where you paid for the ticket expressing it. You and I go to chat rooms or have a conversation at the "watercooler", etc. What amazes me is that people listen to what those Hollywood actors say as if these folks were some sort of expert when in reality, in most cases, they aren't.
As far as Fox censoring the four letter words, I don't blame them, the FCC is giving out fines for this, so they simply are trying to obey the rules as they are today. My guess is ABC, CBS, and NBC would be more careful too than they have been in past years for the same reason.

Very true. I once read an article about Murdoch's papers in Britain almost always supporting the incumbents-translation: he wants to be in bed with those with power. So if an incumbent is defeated in an election who had the endorsement from a Murdoch paper, chances are in the next election the paper will endorse the new incumbent, or at the very least remain netural.

Well, there was similarity with the Emmy's and the Patriots - cheats and whoremongers. Too many to mention for the Emmy's but Belicheat and Brady come to mind for the Patriots.

Fox's censors were more concerned with curse words and nudity (as any broadcast network would be). I think that they had an itchy trigger finger, but they were also consistent. Has NOTHING to do with politics, so let's leave the conspiracy theories at the door.
On a different note, I still don't know why Ray Romano got cut off.

Ray Romano made an off color remark about Patricia Heaton (his former co-star from Everybody Loves Raymond) and Kelsey Grammer sleeping together, then the camera went away for a few seconds. Heaton and Grammer have a new show on FOX where they play newscasters.
As I said before, FOX should have bleeped other words like the slang term for an illegitmate child, among other things. FOX is also hypocritical since they carry shows that condone this type of language.
