Fox Oldies Adds 70’s Music /Are They Still On 1490

I have noticed, and they are promoting, that Fox Oldies has added some seventies music mix to their rotation. I think it improves the content somewhat. They don’t appear to have dropped much of the old stuff, but it is a step in the right direction.
Speaking of Fox Oldies I also noticed that the legal TOH ID, which was a clumsily mouthful no longer mentions 1490 WDLC, Port Jervis. I was just wondering, are they no longer simulating WGNY or did they just decided to clean up the ID, and do the ID for WDLC separated and local. That would make sense since 98.9 signed on they promote 1220 & 98.9. I get 1490 WKNY Kingston so I can’t hear WDLC.

Thanks for the info. I hope "Fox Oldies" is adding 70's music in the mix, how about adding disco in the mix including Donna Summer, Thelma Houston, Kool and the Gang, the Bee Gees with songs from "Saturday Nught Fever" and a few others to the station. If WGNY-FM would be smart enough to add 70's to it's rotation, it would do better. I hope maybe in the coming years, they should add 80's music to the station and dropping the 50's and early 60's music completely and call it "Fox Hits 98.9" rather than "Fox Oldies", but "Fox Oldies" is at 1220.

As I was hearing at TOH, I don't hear them mentioned WDLC in Port Jervis, but I don't know what is going to happen on 1490 AM, is WDLC will flip formats rather than talk or standards? Time will tell.

Fox Oldies is perfect the way it is!! And I'm just listening online. It's the music of the original Baby Boomers and we grew up in the 50's, 60's and 70's. We discovered rock and roll in the 50's and early 60's. 80's would ruin it all. We love these decades of music. I hope people of my age group who live in the Fox Oldies market area will support this station. Enough real oldies formats have bitten the dust by stations going after a younger demographic.

According to Scott Fybush that WDLC is dropping its simulcast of "Fox Oldies" as of like a week or so ago to replace with a simulcast of WJGK's "The Fox" at 103.1. 97.3 in Highland was simulcasting "The Fox" a few years back which was covered by "The Wolf" when it's on 94.3 and 97.3, but it was pulled the plug. I hope "The Fox" at 103.1 will do better on WDLC dumping "Fox Oldies", because "Fox Oldies" is now 98.9, but it has been on the air since late February.

1490 WDLC is now using translator 107.7 in Port Jervis and both are simulcasting 103.1 WJGK........This is because 96.7 WTSX in the process of moving south into Pennsylvania in order to protect 96.7 WCZT who is moving closer to NYC......1490/107.7 will fill the gap between 103.1/96.7 when the 96.7 move is complete.....There is a special announcement on foxradio.net

Just to update though that Fybush says that WTSX at 96.7 which is simulcasting "The Fox" at 103.1 is moving soon to Lehmann Township, PA, near the Delaware River by this weekend to make way for WKLV's "K-Love" in New York City on the same frequency. I hope this would affect the area. "The Fox" will still be on 1490 AM and 107.7. I hope "The Fox" will return to it's simulcast on 97.3 soon to cover Cumulus' "The Wolf". That happened a few years back when "The Fox" was simulcast on 97.3 where they covered Poughkeepsie, New Paltz and Highland. Not anytime soon.

Oh please not that gawd awful 70's crap....they don't go deep into the 70's like the TOC does anyway..stopped listening to TOC when 98.9 went on, like the variety.......

oldies4ever ;D ;D

Anyone have a direct streaming URL that can be plugged into an external player? I'm always willing to see if there are stations out there that can top KLUV-HD2 in Dallas - and, of course, Kool 101 in Connecticut. ::)
