Fox Sports Net South 2 coming via Turner South?

The AJC is reporting that Time Warner is in negotiations with News Corporation (Fox) to sell Turner South to them.

The AJC article quotes a media expert who expects that Fox will convert the network form its general regional entertainment format into an all sports format (FSN South 2). The Braves are expected to be sold entirely seperately for the network (Falcons owner Arthur Blank is the current frontrunner for the Braves).

I personally believe that this is going to happen. Fox has no interest in operating a regional variety channel, but they do have an interest in operating regional sports channels.

If you liked one of the Turner South original productions, be prepared to say goodbye to it really soon.

If Turner South were to become FSN South 2, who would call the Braves games? That would be my main concern. I'd hope they'd keep Skip, Pete, Don, Joe, and Chip -- because they are MUCH better than the FSN announcers.

Multichannel News quoted an somebody from Turner saying some of the TS entertainment programming may wind up available as part of a broadband service.
