FOX SPORTS RADIO (SORRY, BUT THIS IS VERY SAD AND A SIN) SORRY

Hello everyone, thank you for your time right quick. Ok, I'm a Producer at an Fox Sports Radio affilate. I've been working here for the last three years. I've been working in radio for just over nine years. It's a true honor to run the board for Fox Sports Radio Network at our station. But it is very sad that they let some people go from there. They were the best radio announcers like you can never hear in your life, some of you may disagree, but it is true, and I know so because I got to work with one of those radio announcers, and he even drove me home after the show, that's how nice he is.

One of these radio announcers they let go was "Big Ben Maller" He was on "Third Shift On Fox" which was on every morning 2am-6am. He was most recently on weekdays in the last year. Prior to that he was on weekends Saturday and Sunday mornings. For me, he was one of the most nicest radio personalities on there. I am very sad they they let him go like that, he is a very nice person.

The part that is a sin that they did. They keep the bad people. Yes folkes, they let the good people go, and ghey keep the bad people. They still have on Bruce Jacobs. Sorry everyone but, for me, Bruce Jacobs is an so bad. He yell at the callers, and is very disrespectfull and ignorant. Although sometimes it sounds funny, but most of the time 99.99% of the time, he is very disrespectfull and ignorant. Sorry to say bad. Normally I wouldn't do this, but I am very sad to see FOX Sports Radio keep Bruce Jacobs on there. They also used to had Chuck Booms. I don't know who is worce, Bruce Jacobs or Chuck Booms. I think Chuck Booms is the worce. Sorry to say bad.

Now, Saturday and Sunday 8pm-11pm Fox Sports Radio just started putting on Sean Farnham, on Sunday Sean Farnham and Sean Farrar is on. So far, for me, Sean Farnham is simular to how Big Ben Maller was. So far, Sean Farnham is maddd cool. I'm thankfull they have a good person on there.
April 25, 2009 8pm-11pm Sean Farnham was not on here tonight. You know who is filling in? Take your guess. (Very sad) Yes, bad people (Bruce Jacobs) That is a sin.

My thought is, since Sean Farnham has a co-host on Sunday night, why not re-hire Big Ben Maller to work with him on Saturday nights?

When you listen to radio, especially talk radio, you should feel like you want to listen more and more and have it feel like the radio host is talking to you (like a friend you knew for a long time>>>>example John Frieke, Big Ben Maller both talk like that) They both talk like they known you forever. The way they sound, it make you want to listen more and more and more.
JT The Brick is ok as well.

Regarding the overnight programming their new Best Of Show "Fox Soup" It is ok. But it's not live, like before. Your thoughts on this? For me, it's ok, because for those who are unable to listen to FSR 24/7, they can hear how it sounds, and hear the best shows that they missed. So it's ok. I wish they could have live programming. Your thoughts?

Back to Saturday nights with Sean Farnham, I think they should rehire Big Ben Maller and have both of them on this show, and if they are out, heve either Hacksaw Hamilton fill in or have Jorge Sedano fill in? Your thoughts please?

Again, I am truely sorry to say bad, but I am sad that they let the good people go, and they keep the bad people.

Your thoughts please?

 @ FSR for letting Maller go.

I find Bruce entertaining when he does fill in, thats just me. I guess he is fine in smaller doses.

Does anyone know if Maller is on the air anywhere? That Soup show that replaced him is not good enough to make me listen except for the Czabe replays who is by far the best thing on FSR, but 5am is early.

You'd think they wouldn't need an overnight clipshow, considering the large number of overnight clears FSR has and many on 50 kw stations, but this is Clear Channel.

Not even. The Soup host, Sam Battish (sp?) is dreadfully annoying and condesending. Any more chef, cooking and soup references he can make just makes me want to drive a knitting needle through my ear (as Chuck Booms would put it). Amy Laurence and Freddie Coleman never sounded so good. :-[

I for one am surprised that WEEI/Boston and their ten-station network has not come up with any replacement programming for the Soup. That's a total throwaway on one of the most dominant sports stations in the US. And it's weird that Czabe replays (via The Soup) are on WJFK-FM in Washington (CBS Radio), while his home station, WTEM-AM (Redskins owner Dan Snyder) no longer carries the FSR show but still airs his other weekday show, "The Sports Reporters." ::)

Czabe is the only reason I listen to FSR anymore, I rather have Maller on, but the good thing out of the Soup is I get to hear some good Czabe highlights. I agree about that Sam Betesh "cooking soup" take, but I rather listen to him than Looney.

The problem is, Sam Betesh uses that same unfunny liners every single night. Every night! Why no one - NO ONE - in programming or management or production just whispers to him, "uh, you're annoying with that 'cooking soup' crap" is beyond me.

It was weird that Chris Moore filled in for Sam Betesh last night... on a general show, with no clips. Why they did that and not left any other producer to host The Soup makes me scratch my head.

It was refreshing to hear Chris Moore do the show last night. I'm so sick and tired of this "soup" crap. Why not just let Sam Batesh do his own show? I assume it's because they are hardly paying him anything, and there is no producer who could help him put on an actual show with content and callers. What a shame.

Holy Cow Batman, Sam Betesh must be a VPs mistresses nephew.. BUT its better than Jason 'my girlfriend in college' Smith on ESPN or David 'sports is the celebration of life' Stein on SNR

Chris Moore was also on LIVE Tuesday morning 2am-6am Eastern Time hosting "Fox Soup" Fox Sports Radio should put him on weekdays, and on weekends put back on Chris Plank. That's just my idea. No one ever listens to me anyways :(

Also, as I said before regarding Bruce Jacobs.
This past Saturday May 23, 2009, I was at work running the board at our station that carry FOX Sports Radio. The host says "Up Next, Bruce Jacobs"
I was so mad to hear that he is still on there. He was filling in for Sean Farnham.

What Fox Sports Radio Network Programming Management should do is have Sean Farnham and Big Ben Maller on Saturday nights, and Sundays have Sean Farnham and Farrar like it already is.
If Someone is not there, as a fill in, they should put on Hacksaw Hamilton.

I'm sorry but Fox Sports Radio Programming Management has to do better than this.

BUt as I said in the last post, "no one ever listen to me"

Same here. Chris' on-air style is perfect for the overnight hours. And the fact they let him to an actual show in lieu of a "clip" show suggested to me that it could be an audition? You couldn't tell that it was "the soup" besides the show liners. I seriously doubt that Sam is even capable of hosting a show... he's in the same league as Joaquin on "Mike & Mike." Good producer, decent VO, nothing else.

Makes me yearn for the days of "winner winner chicken dinner" David Stein. Boom goes the dynamite.

tell us why Sean Farnham blows? Tell us why he blows.

What, you all like bad people?

Lets all elaborate on this topic.

-Personnally I think they should let Bruce Jacobs go. Let the bad guys go (Sorry, please forgive me to say this) but they should have good people on, not bad people who yell at the listenners (that's how you lose ratings and lose listenners. If I hear a radio host yelling at a listener like Bruce does, I wouldn't listen anymore. That is rude, disrespectful and ignorant. Sorry, please forgive me. These are my thoughts.

-On Saturday Nights they should have Sean Farnham and Big Ben Maller, and Sunday Night, have the same as now Farnham and Ferrel. (These are the best radio announcers on FOX Sports Radio. The way they talk, it make you want to listen more and more because it feel like they are talking to me (personnally) Most times, they respect the listenner. Most times they are enjoyable to listen to as well as Hacksaw Hamilton and John Fricke)

-If Farnham is absent, let Hacksaw Hamilton fill in. Look at my sentences in my quote in the previous paragraph)

-On Overnights (Third Shift 2am-6am eastern time) put on Chris Moore live on weekdays and re-hire Chris Plank to work overnight weekend Third Shift. Again, look at my quote two paragraph before this one.
These are my thoughts that FOX Sports Radio Management should do.

Sorry to say bad things, I don't mean to, but I am so sad and mad that FOX Sports Radio let one of their best radio host go. It is very sad and a sin to do that, and keep the bad people, that is a sin. so very bad. Please forgive me for saying the bad things.

Nice Guys does not a Talk Show Host make.

You gotta be funny, witty, creative, charismatic... Sean Farnham... NAH He can do play-by-play

Yes, I agree, but for a second. I agree they should have someone on who is funny, but not who yell at people like Bruce Jacobs does, that is bad. That is not good. How would you like if he yelled at you? How will any of you like that?
Sean Farnham is funny, he got a sence of humor as well.

If I'm reading this correctly, Pete Franklin should've flopped in Cleveland.

Callers used to call him up to irritate him (especially children). He gave some callers incendiary nicknames ("Mr. Know It All" Mike Trivisonno, for one) and actually got the PBP rights to the Cavaliers STRIPPED from his home station, WWWE/1100, because he stood up against an incompetent owner in Ted Stepian every night. And if you think Bruce Jacobs' voice is irritating (it is b/c he sounds way too much like Hannity) Pete's voice would have given you an aneurism.

But he became a legendary figure and one of the pioneers of sports/talk... staying at WWWE from 1972 to 1987. The sole consistent voice on that station during that period. Oh they listened.

I'm sorry, I still say Fox Sports Radio Programming Management should bring back Big Ben Maller on weeknight overnight, even if they have to change it a little bit, and also bring back Chris Plank who was there weekend overnights. It's very sad what they did.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to say the bad things, but what they did was bad.
I am thankfull they still have John Fricke, Sean Farnham, and Deb Carson. I wish they would have Hacksaw Hamilton on.
