FOX Sports reaches deal with Conference USA

Does this mean some college football games will air on Fox network? I've always wondered why they didn't have any regular season games like all the other networks, yet they carried the BCS games for several years.

Does this mean they are off of CBS College Sports?
And will they be seen on the FSN regionals that get re-branded
as "Root" or some other silly name?

No. They signed a multi-year deal with them for secondary games.

Yes. There are only three (3) that will be re-branded as Root Sports.

It only covers FSN. Not the Fox network.

Cheers :D

Where was ESPN in the bidding?

Hopefully, they knew better than to bid for the rights to broadcast football of a bunch of schools calling themselves Division I-A (FBS) that are no better than many Division I-AA (FCS) programs. There are only four reasonably decent football programs in C-USA: Tulsa, Southern Miss, Central Florida (probably Big East-bound), and...and...and...that's right, there isn't a fourth one. Leagues like C-USA, the Sun Belt, and now the WAC are full of basically designated homecoming games for SEC, Big XII, Big Ten and Pac-12 schools.

I live in Birmingham. No one could give a flying flip about UAB football. Of course, Auburn and Alabama dominate the interest and the coverage in the area, but Troy (member of the Sun Belt) generates more interest locally.

And as far as basketball goes, the league is a one-trick pony when Memphis has a decent team. The rest of the time, the league is only so-so.
