Frank Gifford, NFL Hall-of-Famer and longtime broadcaster for CBS and ABC/MNF

Wow...he was a great voice on MNF, but Howard Cosell was not a fan. He wrote a whole book about it. Guys like Frank & Pat Summerall were pioneers as players who became broadcasters, and both played for the Giants.

Of course in recent years, he was best known because of his famous wife.

Hah-wad didn't like any ex-player that became a broadcaster. Some of his feelings were justified, such as when he had to deal with stiffs like O.J. Simpson, Joe Namath, and the didn't-make-it-through-preseason Fred "The Hammer" Williamson on MNF, but not in the case of Gifford or Summerall.
