Fred Milano of the original Belmonts that backed Dion a a couple of early hits died at age 71 of Stomach cancer.....The Belmonts that split with Dion early after a couple of hits , were estranged from Dion, and that escalated when Dion was Inducted into the Rock N' Roll hall Of fame without the Belmonts. The Del-Satins (Later Became Brooklyn Bridge) anonymousy backed Dion on more Hits than the Belmonts.
The Belmonts had many, many recordings during their career, the majority did not chart , but still have become staples on Doo-Wop shows accross the country.
Should Dion been inducted on his own , or with the Belmonts, or even with the Del-Satins??
I vote for Dion and the Belmonts together......when I think of Dion, I think of the Belmonts.
