Fredericksburg, VA: Rush, Beck, Hannity To Be Carried By ESPN Radio Affiliate

Talk about strange bedfellows... Shortly after WFVA (1230 AM) drops the big three conservative talkers for music, WYSK (1350 AM - "The Game") as well as 96.5 FM will be carrying them, right in the middle of ESPN programming. In other words, Glenn Beck will be airing right after Mike & Mike.

I'm not entirely surprised. Given Fredericksburg being a bedroom community for much of the DoD workers, a pretty iffy AM signal from DC or Richmond as the only other listening option, and with a FM signal now, it seems to be the perfect choice...much better ad dollars compared to Colin Cowherd and the loads of PSA's they play all afternoon.

Does anyone even listen to AM in the 'Burg anymore?

During the day, other than people passing through town, everyone who lives there is off in DC to work. At night, I doubt any tune in to the AM dial, even when sitting for 2 hours on 95 to get home. WFVA never offered any local traffic or much else for that matter.

WFVA seems to have dumped the only thing that actually would have brought them any listeners if you could actually hear them more than a couple miles either side of I-95. Head west on 3 and you lose them around Five Mile Fork. Head East on 2 and you lose them around New Post. South they are scratchy once you reach Thornburg. North I haven't checked. This is daytime of course.
