Metro Puts Warrenton's 1250 Up For Sale - 9/2 - "If you know anyone who would like to own their own radio station here in our backyard, please let us know," asks Metro Radio chief Bruce Houston. "We have decided to sell WKDL, 1250 AM" in Warrenton. "We don't need this station because WTNT, 730 AM, covers Warrenton," he says. Soon after buying the 730 signal from Redskins owner Dan Snyder's Red Zebra, Vienna-based Metro flipped the Spanish sports talker and, later, oldies station to right-leaning talk with the WTNT calls. In January, Metro starting using Warrenton's 1250 as a relay for WTNT, which features a Mount Vernon transmitter. Over the years, 1250 has sported other calls, including WPRZ, and has featured a variety of formats, including gospel, classic country, and Spanish. Houston is asking $300,000 for the Warrenton signal, which is 5,000-watts daytime, and 32-watts after sunset...
