Fun Fantasy: Which Fictional TV Town/City Would You Like to Live In?

Doesn't seem to be a way to do an actual poll on this board, but here's something fun to ponder.

Given your choice of being able to live in any one of these six fictional cities or towns from TV shows, which would you choose, and why?

-- Hooterville (Green Acres/Petticoat Junction)

-- Gotham City (Batman)

-- Springfield (The Simpsons)

-- Cicely, Alaska (Northern Exposure)

-- Mayfield (Leave it to Beaver)

-- Eureka (the sci-fi series of the same name)

You may suggest other make-believe communities, but try to choose from these six -- I tried to pick a good variety from across genres and decades.
 
Why not the metropolis where Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman lived? It seemed like a nice city. Plus, I'd love to be able to read the Daily Planet every day!

Fun question. Turning it around, the one fictional TV Town I would most NOT like to live in: Cabot Cove. Given the small population, the murder rate there is astronomical. The odds of living a long life are not good.

For similar reasons (high crime), I would not like to live in any of the fictional towns on action dramas that are a lot like Los Angeles, but aren't because the producers don't want the LA Chamber of Commerce and LAPD getting angry. You know, those cities served by the "Metropolitan" Police Department, or the "SCPD."
 
My vote goes to Gotham City...The criminals, instead of being skeevy thugs and crackheads, would all be interesting...from Penguin, Joker, Riddler and Catwoman all the way down to Louie The Lilac!

Write-in #1:Sunnyvale would kinda suck, what with the whole apocalyptic battle between good and evil thing.

Write-in #2: ANY fake sitcom military installation would be cool, especially Camp Henderson from Gomer Pyle! Think about it: Not only were there no worries about getting shipped off to 'Nam, but the hardest thing to do during your hitch in the Corps was to clear up the occasional misunderstanding between Sergeant Carter and Bunny!

(Also, fake Luftwaffe POW camps would be pretty easy duty...)

Not me!! I don't trust those flying cars, or should I say, their drivers. Look at how lousy most drivers are now -- would you really trust them to go flying around in the sky? Every accident would be like a mini plane crash for those on the ground.

How about Fort Baxter, with Bilko? All the s--t those guys got away with....that would have been fun. (And I think Doberman would be a fun guy to hang out with...)

Yeah, but think of all the washed up actors you'd get to see passing through town! (MSW was like welfare for out-of-work actors, much like "the Love Boat.") ;)

Actually, my personal choice would be Cicely. I love quirky people, and in that town, everyone marched to a different drummer. As long as I could have a decent internet connection, satellite TV,and a good Chinese buffet there.....
 
I have already lived in Hooterville.....several times :D

(* small midwestern towns where the locals bore a strong resemblance to those characters....
you thought it was something dirty I bet!)

Same with me...I'd also like to live in Twin Peaks...such a pretty town, quirky too, as long as I don't run into BOB or have backwards talking dreams I would be fine.
 
...at all costs, avoid Point Place, Wisconsin. The shifting between Kenosha and Brown Counties plays hell with the stabilities of the buildings, and Michael Kelso is now the police chief...

...now, I'd still LOVE to work at either WKRP or WJM-TV ;-) ...

Yeah, but you'd have all of those advanced crash avoidance systems, so it wouldn't be a problem. Automated everything, moving sidewalks, and Rosie does all the work - and I don't mean O'Donnell (talk about a living hell!)

Mayberry (The Andy Griffith Show)

Bedrock (The Flintstones)

Raytown (Mama's Family)

Bikini Bottom (SpongeBob Squarepants)

Actually that IS possible since there really is a Raytown. Raytown, Missouri !! From what I read on other boards that town was the inspiration for Mama's Family. I have heard that even Vicki Lawrence admitted to that.
 
My choice of towns are two complete opposites:

#1) Frostbite Falls, Minnesota with Rocky & Bullwinkle

and

#2) Stafford, Indiana so I could give the razzberries to Lt. Gerard for
picking on Dr. Richard Kimble
 
And you can practically live in Mayberry,
a thinly-disguised Mt. Airy, NC. A number
of towns Andy mentioned over the years
are real (or almost so): Mt. Pilot is really
Pilot Mountain and is a neighboring town to
Mt. Airy; Raleigh (of course, the state capital);
Siler City (yes! I live there!), Bannertown,
Fancy Gap (this one's in Virginia, just up I-77
from Mt. Airy), and one I heard him mention
last night--Wilmington (it was the episode where
Gomer joined the Marines, where in real life he
would have gone through boot camp at Parris
Island, which is in South Carolina).

Mt. Airy, as I'm sure all of you know, is Andy's
hometown.

Twin Peaks: outdoor locations filmed in Snoqualmie, North Bend, and Fall City, Washington. (About 30 miles east of Seattle in the Cascade foothills).

Northern Exposure: Cicely, Alaska was actually filmed in Roslyn, Washington, another half hour or so east from Twin Peaks, (above).

In the early 90's, Western Washington State was well-represented on national TV...the above, and of course, Frasier, set in Seattle.
 
What about wherever in Vermont Bob Newhart lived?

One must of course realize that the Hooterville of "Green Acres" and the Hooterville of "Petticoat Junction" were the same town they were totally different realities.
 
What about the soap opera cities like Pine Valley, Pennsylvania (All My Children), Monticello (The Edge of Night), Genoa City, Wisconsin (Young and the Restless), Port Charles (General Hospital), or Salem (Days of our Lives)?

I would love to live in Metro City (Inspector Gadget) though.
