FUNNY NEWS STORY ON RELEVENT RADIO AM-950

This morning around 7am I was listing to the News from the Vatican on AM-950 Relevant Radio and they said the funniest thing that I ever heard! Pope Paul Benedict is coming to Chicago and five young children will be presenting gifts to him as a ritual custom to the catholic faith. And a priest by the name of Father Dennis The Menace will be making a speech when Pope Paul Benedict arrives in Chicago. (now that’s if I heard that right?)

That’s what I heard on “Morning Air” this morning on AM-950. Correct me if I’m wrong,
But can you just imagine a priest by the name of Father Dennis The Menace at during his speech by saying:
"Goooooood Old Mr. Wilson!!!... "

Did anyone else heard the same thing this morning on AM-950???...

It looks like to me that no one on this board listens to Relevant Radio or must not be listeners of AM-950.
Oh well, Back to the old drawing board!!!...

Unfortunately, I missed that newscast. But, it was probably the local one, and I can only get the Milwaukee affiliate clearly since they moved to 950. Anyway, I know this isn't the part you are questioning, but for the record, it is just Pope Benedict and not Pope Paul Benedict. I do wish I knew the name of that priest though. Ha ha!

Oops! Sorry my mistake, I meant to say Pope Benedict...

Hi, Bob, I had a question for you about Relevant Radio.

Have you heard anything about the sale of the AM930 in Sandwich and AM1270 in Gary?
I know they have been for sale for a few months now, but, I have not heard or read anywhere if anyone has their eye on them.

I also was wondering what the official deal is on 950AM. I thought they were going to run RR 24/7 on that frequency.
I find their programming to be rather unpredictable at night, some nights it's RR and some nights it's foreign language
programs. Does RR own the station yet, or are they still buying the airtime?

Thanks,
TR1992

That is my one pet pieve with Relevant Radio across the board. As a Catholic, I truly believe in their mission, but where they have always needed room for improvement is communication on these matters. When I went to their Chicago page recently, they were still announcing the switch from 820 to 950! Sometimes they will put up press releases on their main page, and sometimes they won't. I've seen lots of their materials out of date over the years. You email them, and sometimes they'll get back to you. This is an improvement, as they use to never return email inquirees. It's sad really! They need to really step up their game with these basic housekeeping matters.

Brian, You're right on their need to better communicate with the audience. I am also Catholic and until recently I didn't know
they ran the Bishop Sheen program on AM930 and AM1270. I really enjoy his program and when I tuned in accidently to AM930, I heard
him. I was out in the western burbs and hit seek in the car and it stopped on AM930, usually where I'm at in the city it stops on AM950.
Now that I know he is on I hand tune the radio to AM 930 or 1270. If I had not tuned in by accident I would have not known he was on.
I always thought that all 3 stations played the exact same programming, whether it was AM820,930 ,950 or 1270.

I really do not know if anyone had made any sales on both AM930 and AM1270, but I went to RR website and they indicate that they only have a spanish outlet only a few hours a night from 7pm til 9pm Monday through Friday.

1270 WWCA up for sale? That's news to me. Starboard spent a lot of money on that station that was silent for 10 years, and also had to do some work on the towers since they were neglected prior to Starboard's ownership. I have no clue as to who would want WWCA. Their coverage is mainly in Lake County Indiana and the far SE side of Chicago. It barely makes it into Porter County in Indiana & Cook County in Illinois. Unless Starboard holds onto that station, I don't see anyone else wanting the station, as it might go dark again.
