Furthest Station From The East Or West Coast You Have Received???

That reminds me of one of my strangest catches. It was back in 1981 in my college dorm in Bethlehem, Pa.

I heard WIOD on top of WIP when I nulled out WIP as best I could. The weird part was that both stations were coming from pretty much the same direction and WIP was only 50 miles away.

The reason I was DXing on 610 in the first place was because had just got back from visiting California and I was hoping I maybe could hear KFRC (a long shot, I know) because I wasn't able to DX on 610 back home in south Jersey with WIP being so close there.

An amusing sidebar is that neither the K nor the W are in the traditional Spanish alphabet (and "Ch" "rr" "Ñ" and "LL" are actually letters. But the dean of Mexican radio stations is "XEW" so that restriction does not apply to calls. ;D
 
My best catches were actually FM....I once picked up KBXX 97.9 from Houston, Texas from here in Greenvile, PA (which I thought was WJLB from Detroit, but they ID'ed as KBXX/ Houston)...and once from my car in Washington, PA, I picked up 101.7 (not sure of the calls) from Jackson, Mississippi area. I've actually gotten further on FM than AM lol

The 101.7 in Jackson, MS is WYOY according to the Wikipedia.
 
That was what I consider my first big DX catch was Jackson, and i was going around the curve by Washington County PA fairgrounds, and I almost drove off the road when they said Jackson. lol True DX'er lol
