Fybush: Chronicle salute to local radio history

Fybush's latest NERW mentions the Chronicle show on Ch 5 this Fri., 2/23, which delves into local radio history
(Dale Dorman, Woo Woo Ginsburg, Gary LaPierre--Scott has info on his WBZ Hall of Fame entry--
Donna Halper, Ed Brouder, and Fybush himself. He also notes WZLX's studio move (so much for any commercial stations in the Back Bay--I remember when WRKO was at 116 Huntington...) Slight typo: He mentions a
WFCR translator in Williamsport but I think he means Williamstown (the former is the Penn. town that's
home to Little League)

I always suggest Fybush's column as important info. Hopefully these are on your bookmarks:

Correction & Radio Hall Of Fame Needed

Actually, WRKO was at 7 Bulfinch Place when it went talk in 1980 - 81 first with David Brudnoy at night and Jerry Williams in the afternoon. They moved to the Fenway Park area after General Tire & Rubber Co. lost it FCC license [ the FCC discovered the tire company gave bribes to the Nixon administration to sell tires in Japan and Europe]. After that they mover to Huntington Avenue.

On point. What this city needs is a Radio Museum not just a WBZ Hall of Fame which by definition is self-limiting.
