Friends, who were in attendance, told me that the event was fabulous. They said the multi-media, alone, was worth the price of admission. Hope they will have pictures and a DVD available.
Saw your post in the Atlanta section. Yes there will be a DVD. The GRHOF.com site will have it as soon as it's available. Hope it's reasonably priced 'cause I'd like a copy myself. It is obvious there is a rich radio history in Georgia and this was a celebration of those great days.
You could tell how much thought and preparation had gone into planning this event. Everyone I spoke to since has said it far exceeded their expectation. John Long and company did an incredible job. You couldn't walk away without realizing what an incredible industry this used to be.
What I thought was funny was that all of the jocks didn't have an acceptance speech longer than about 30 seconds. ;D I guess they were afraid Bill Drake would cut them off. (rimshot) I suggest that if someone does go long on a speech that they should play a shotgun jingle and a record and make them walk up the intro.
