We may joke though somewhere in a room of bright colors the idea is being discussed. I think it would fail after a year. Politics that prevail with in the lifestyle would frey away advertisers.

There's already a "gay channel" on Sirius. Howard Stern talks about it all the time...how he can't wait to get to satellite and he would be in the studio for the gay channel everyday. His guys have crank called them a couple of times already. It was pretty funny. Since they don't have to worry about what language gets out over the air, they pretty much just went with the flow.

I believe I read on All Access a job opening for a Gay Talk show host, a lifestyle show or something in the New York area. Might have been that satellite though. Not sure.

Don't laugh. Gays tend to have a lot of disposable income and are actually quite sought after by many advertisers.
Such a concept might work on a LPFM in Houston...such as the 94.9 frequency in the Montrose and inner city areas (the old "Radio Free Montrose" pirate was on that frequency.)
As an aside, it appears the new Gay-oriented Logo TV has yet to strike a deal with the Time Warner Cable corporate bigshots, so no telling when it will appear in Houston.

I went to the schedule for KPFT 90.1 at www.kpft.org and the only gay program I could find was Saturday night-Sunday morning from 1am to 4am called Afterhours. I'm sure a call to the station and someone could tell you if there are other gay shows and when.
What would be "gay radio"? I'm sure the gay population would be just as diverse as the straight population in likes and dislikes, with one exception of course. I would hope the show isn't a three hour discussion about gay sex, at the time the show is on, I suppose anything goes though.
