Geller (formally of Q100) voicetracking in market #297 !!!

It's something new that Clear Channel came up recently. They take talent from one town and make them record a show for another one. :D

Seriously, I think it is a corporate requirement for all FM DJs at any CC station to voicetrack another station that is out-of-town.

No, it isnt. But it IS an easy way to make some extra money.

I didn't realize markets went that high (or low, as it were).

Sorry, wrong on both accounts. CC has been doing this for atleast six years.

And, no all FM djs at any CC station are not required to do an out of town shift. It may be optioned to them, for extra compensation, but very few cases are "required".

And SAVE Clear Channel money, which is the most-important thing, you know.

Thanks for furthering my point. Its a win-win situation. ;D

It's an extra $3000-5000, depending on the shift and market. And how long does it take to VT a four-hour show, anyway?

You'd be insane not to take it.

except if you're an up and coming talent that's looking for a foot in the door. Then, it's just aggrivating!

On the flip side, I guess it cuts out the bottom feeders...
