George Holliday, a plumber who gained local and national fame 30 years ago when he used his video camera to tape the infamous Los Angeles police beating of motorist Rodney King in Lake View Terrace, has died, it was reported Monday.

Turns out he died from COVID-19 But wow George Holiday was one of the earliest known cases where a civilian has filmed an event that has a world wide impact in the past 30 years. Ever since the Rodney King Incident it became common for people to film major events such as Police Brutality incident and post them on Social Media and whenever police brutality is filmed in other parts of the USA it always gets compared back to Rodney King.
