Ghosts of radio station Christmas past

As I sit here on Christmas eve, my mind drifts to the days of yore before all-Christmas formats dominated the airwaves from before Thanksgiving to Christmas. My question to you: what were Christmas Eve and Day like on local radio in the 60s-70s-80s? How about titles that have disappeared from the radio? One great one I remember was "The Christmas Song" from the Jimmy Castor Bunch. a saxophone-heavy instrumental, not a novelty lie "Troglodyte" or "The Bertha Butt Boogie". Also here's a Christmas Day radio memory: On Christmas Day 1975, both my younger brother and I received digital AM/FM clock radios. They were the kind that actually made a sound when they clicked over to the next minute. I remember hearing then Top 40 Q106, WQXA playing all Christmas songs that morning. Merry Christmas to all!
