KUBE has ratings amongst 18-34 year olds that more than doubled the station that was second best. That 2nd place station was KMPS, by the way, which is inexcusable . This illustrates the strangle hold KUBE has on the demographic that they target. They have done an impressive job defending their turf now more than ever. It also shows what disarray stations like Kiss, Movin, Jack, KNDD and others are in. I have consulted Kube and one other of the aforementioned stations in the past.

KUBE has remained true to their heritage. True to their core. True to their mission. I can't stand the station...all the more reason for them to succeed. For all the buzz about new stations, the core of Seattle radio remains stations that have been consistent for years or even decades. KMPS, KZOK, KIRO, KUBE, and lately, KCMS all hold to a remarkable consistency.

Yup, that's Seattle radio.

KUBE has changed a little. But as much as Marc Kaye would like to think and say it's because of his shop, it's not. KUBE's success today is even more significant because of the real crap-tastic music phase going through its format right now.
