Glenn Beck Beaten By All Other Fox News Shows In 25-54

To be fair, his show still handily beats all other cable news competitors at 5 PM ET, just as it did this past Friday. However, he brought up the rear for all Fox News programs for the evening in the 25-54 demographic. Even Greta Van Susteren - whom was once rumored to be replaced by Beck when his Fox News hot streak first started - eked out a bigger 25-54 viewership than Beck's program on April 1. No fooling.

Read care-ful-ly: Beck is an entertainment/opinion program (as are Hannity, O'Reilly, Greta, etc.); Brett Baier/Shepard Smith and other FOX newscasts are news. There is a difference.

If those newscasts aren't "news" by your definition, then there is no "news" offered on U.S. cable systems.

Exactly, even on the East Coast. Maybe some are driving home listening to FNC on Sirius-XM but, I am not sure if Sirius-XM listeners get factored into the ratings.

Depending on how far right they are -- I doubt any moderates listen or watch Glenn Beck.

This is unfortunate to watch. Beck looked like - at one time - he had the potential to be the next "Rush Limbaugh". Right now, it's not looking good. He's been sounding too depressing, too conspiratorial, and not entertaining enough (as he once was). Throw in too many religious references and it's been a recipe for trouble.

When Beck is at his best, he can be very entertaining. I am not sure what's been happening with him over the past several months. But people are noticing and he is losing affiliates left and right. It's a shame because I think he is one heck of a lot better at radio AND TV than Hannity is. Maybe he has taken on more than he can handle.

Fox News just announced that Beck's show is being dropped. Ratings and advertiser boycotts aside, I think there's another reason. Despite its clearly conservative leanings, Fox News wants to maintain credibility as a legitimate news source. Beck seriously undermines that credibility.

It's one thing to have opinion shows like Hannity and O'Reilly who hold reasonably mainstream views about the world. It's quite another thing to give air time to a man who's clearly on the fringe of public opinion, and keeps spouting wacky conspiracy theories.

I wonder who Beck will blame for the "conspiracy" to have his show eliminated. Maybe Roger Ailes has been having lunch with George Soros.
