Glenn Scott's Last Day - the end of an era!

Friday (June 1) is the day. After 29 plus years, Glenn Scott will do his last program on WSJS. Glenn announced his retirement several weeks ago and has been saying goodbye to some of his regular callers and guests for the last week or so.

Glenn Scott is without a doubt the classiest person I know in the radio business and in 40 years, I worked with a lot of them. There are many great, talented air personalities, but few if any have the humility and temperament of Glenn Scott.

Glenn is an institution in Winston-Salem and the Greensboro Market. People credit Rush Limbaugh for the saving AM radio. Well, with Glenn in the mornings, WSJS never needed saving. His ratings have consistently placed him among the top morning shows in the market.

His understanding of the relationship between the listener and the advertiser, and his role with both, has resulted in literally millions of dollars worth of advertising for Curtis, CBS Radio, Clear Channel, Fairfield, New Market and Summit – those who owned the station in his 29 years.

It is a run that will be hard to beat!

I am proud to say I worked with Glenn and he is my friend. Godspeed, Glenn. Enjoy the beach (literally). I hope our paths cross sometime in the future. You are a class act.
