GM Slashes XM Radio Prices - bad news for in-dash XM Radio

problematic, defective technology..

Now Leonards words; "There is not one single report on file at the FCC, after 13 years of intensive efforts by Bell Labs and other prestigious researchers, proving that their system can satisfy FCC Rules and Regulations. (Arguably, there has been more money spent (wasted) on developing this fatally flawed System than any other radio system, including FM Radio and all AM and FM Stereo Systems COMBINED!)"

Gee it all sounds too familiar

Thank you Leonard

It's not too surprising...I've said all along that SUPERCASTER and SayLiesAboutIBOC were simply parroting "party lines" about IBOC. Interestingly enough, neither are engineers, and neither have any experience with HD Radio. In fact, SayLies still has never heard HD Radio. So anything they present isn't even a QUALIFIED opinion, it is simply a reprint of what others have written. It's a pretty sweet deal, really, because they do none of the homework. They simply Google for a position on a certain topic and find some opinion piece on it.

Of course when we ask them to prove any of it, they can't. They just tell us to click the links.

The fun comes when they don't do their homework and just start spouting off. Currently there are questions out challenging SUPERCASTER and SayLies to actually back up something they've both said on their own. Neither have responded. Wonder why? Maybe because they stepped over the line and now have no links to back up their claim.

If only they actually, personally, knew something about IBOC they could be taken seriously. It's pretty obvious, however, that the only thing they really know about it is what they've read online. And the fact that 99% of their sources are blogs and opinion pieces written by IBOC opponents tells the story. By nature, there are very little facts included in blogs and op-ed pieces. They are a persons opinion...and that person doesn't need facts to have an opinion.

Anyway, the bottom line was that things were good here until these two came by with their "THE SKY IS FALLING" posts. There was some intellegent, back and forth discussion. Problem is, neither of them really want to discuss anything.

It's OK however, it's pretty clear that we've got their number. And they're getting nervous.

XM still doesn't get it..... when it comes to listening to music, music lovers like myself, want to hear a mix of rock music that does not repulse or offend. For me that would be a channel that DOES NOT play the already over-played "hits". Deep Tracks mainly plays "hits' that aren't in heavy roration on the coporate conglomerate chains.... That's no service to somone that DOES NOT LIKE "HIT" RADIO ! ! ! ! !

I would never enjoy listening to Rock by way of all these segmented catagories that XM has come up with. THAT IS NOT THE WAY THAT I, OR OTHER CULTURED MUSIC LOVERS LISTEN TO MUSIC ! ! ! ! !

You just don't ------- get it.....

So, I am happy to listen to the radio that I love most, and that is FREE terrestrial radio. And now, with my recent JVC upgrade, I listen to FREE HD RADIO, CH 1 and CH 2 ! ! !

I have more hope for HD Radio, than for the morons who are programming the XM channels..... I won't look at rock music on XM, and say that, "Wow, I couldn't ask for anything more ! !" And, radio, for me IS -- ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC , and

NOT ABOUT JOKES,

NOT ABOUT SPORTS,

NOT ABOUT CONTESTS, and

NOT ABOUT RIGID SEGMENTATION

Thanks, but NO THANKS..... I'll try my luck with FREE HD Radio.......
And even if that doesn't pan out..... I've still got the CD/MP3/WMA Player . . .

This is the old thread that IBOCRocks so cleverly played off words - was originally titled: "GM Slashes XM Radio Prices - bad news for in-dash HD Radio". Another pro-IBOC loser, that never had a counter-argument of any merit - hense, the childish renaming of this thread. Mommy had him for dinner religiously between 6PM - 7PM and changed his diaper at 8PM. For those of you that haven't seen it, IBOCRocks farewell eulogy was moved to the, "Take-It-Outside" Board under, "My Work Here is Done".

Well Mr. Rocks, I'm an engineer and I think the system is crap.

I've given many examples of interference with maps and audio clips which have been ignored by the pro-crowd.

My boss is ready to sue from received interference within the protected contour...

:D

HD Radio is not free - the outrageous prices of HD radios, compared to analog radios, is just covering iBiquity's fees, among other things, up-front ! Did this sound like a commercial for HD Radio ? :D

audiophile. knowingly spoke:

That is because all the "pro" crowd believes is that "newer" is better. They don't want to hear about interference. They feel that if YOU are experiencing interference, then it is because of YOUR old and lousy receiving equipment. This is NOT an AM DXing-only issue. This is a real PROBLEM on the commercial AM broadcast band.

There are some people who frequent this topic on this message board whose ego is exceeded only by their ignorance. These people don't CARE about interference. All they care about is the propaganda that iBiquitous continues to spew forth on how wonderful this awful technology is and how it is going to "save" free terrestrial broadcasting.

My boss is ready to sue from received interference within the protected contour...

There are MANY of these kinds of cases brewing. Remember you all heard it here first. The fireworks are going to fly and let's hope the FCC is listening.

In what area are you located, audiophile.? :)

Re: GM Slashes XM Radio Prices - bad news for in-dash HD Radio

Desperately corrupting the title of, and then resurrecting an old board thread, caused by
abject despiration with all the HD defects, poor coverage, hype, and problems.
Why not just give up on HD and support FMeXtra, the solution that makes sense, and does not cause unnecessary radio jamming?
FMeXtra www.dreinc.com is totally compatible, and at least works, without causing any harm or jamming everyone's radios.
