Hartford/New Haven Gois Broadcasting sells 97.5 W248CR Windsor/Hartford CT to Conduit Communications for $275,000

“Gois Broadcasting sells 97.5 W248CR Windsor/Hartford CT to Conduit Communications for $275,000. Conduit will utilize the translator to rebroadcast Christian AC “The Q 99.7” WLCQ-LP Feeding Hills MA. The translator currently rebroadcasts the seller’s Urban Variety “Power 1480” WKND Windsor.”

I had no idea translators could run programming ftom an LPFM.

While I have seen translators for LPFMs before, this is the first time I've seen one that far away from its LPFM provider. I'm assuming (and I'm sure one of the staff can correct me) that the same rules for translators apply for LPFMs as they do for full power noncommercial outlets.

Does this leave WKND without an FM translator? If so, does it have a future after the deal closes? Godcasters aren't buying standalone AMs anymore, and the area doesn't have a significant Chinese, Russian, Iranian, etc. community to support one of those ethnic AMs that David Eduardo often cites as the kind of AMs that can still grind out a small profit despite having no FM presence. So does 1480 go dark soon?

I just looked at the day pattern on r-l. What a dog. The main population centers are in the nulls and the main lobes just go out over green spots on the map (sparsely populated). 😄
