Golden Days of Broadcasting Public Forum - on CT-N

MC'd by Bill Hennessey at a restaurant in New Britain, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Newington, on Monday, July 30. Standing room only, and was open to the public. Quite a few engineers and announcers from Hartford's past spoke.

CT-N did a two-camera shoot, and is showing it on-demand at http://ct-n.com/ondemand.asp?search=golden day.

I asked Brad Davis a question 18:30 into the program. :)

There were some great stories in the video. Interesting to see Larry Wells near the end speaking about being one of the last jocks hired by Charlie Parker and his 31 years at DRC and how he hoped to be back in broadcasting again. Arnold Dean had a great story about his most embarrassing moment when he criticized Red Sox rightfielder Dwight Evans on the air and months later apoligized to Evans in person at a speaking function. Thanks for posting the video link.

Wow! what a great event! Good to see you again Bill. I would have to say that WDRC was one of the most influential stations that shaped my broadcasting philosophy. So many wonderful broadcasters walked through those doors. Thanks for sharing.

Watched it yesterday and enjoyed it. Arnold Dean is still sharp as a tack and looks great.

Thanks for sharing!
