Golden Girls coming to TVLAND in March

The question is: will TVLand hack the show to death, or add so many commercials that it takes 40 minutes to watch?

I guess I could DVR it...

The classic NBC sitcom The Golden Girls is coming to TVLAND this March. Personally I can't wait. I've been missing the show since my mom downgraded our cable and we lost The Hallmark Channel. Hallmark Channel will continue to air the show. WE network's contract for Golden Girls expired in September and no longer airs the show.

WE is showing a Golden Girls marathon tonight. They must have renewed the contract. I checked future listings and there is a marathon next Wed. night too.

Great... another network to air the same programming that airs somewhere else. As if the Golden Girls is not ran at least 8-9 hours a day between WE and Hallmark.

Those two approaches are not mutually exclusive. They will hack the show to death for the 30-min version, and they will hack it to critical condition while still inserting an extra 10 minutes of ads for the 40-min version.

I don't understand why the networks play the same shows other networks are playing. The Golden Girls will be on two channels, Roseanne is on TVLand, CMT and WE
Frasier is on Hallmark and Lifetime
King of Queens is on TBS, TVLand and my local WB
I Love Lucy is on TVLand and Hallmark

With all the sitcoms there have been, why can't we see something different? What happened to Taxi, Barney Miller, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, etc?

Taxi - Was on Me TV, but is off for now
Barney Miller - On Antenna TV, and is on for 2 hours tonight.
MTM and Bob Newhart - On Me TV and Rural TV

Unfortunately for too many of us these are all networks that aren't as readily available. the only one I can get regularly is Antenna TV, and Me TV is very limited in my area. Rural TV is unavailable for me.

I Love Lucy seems to be gone from TV Land for right now replaced by 4 episodes of Dick Van Dyke so it's only on Hallmark for the moment. And it also seems that WE has brought back The Golden Girls so it will be on 3 channels (Hallmark, WE and TV Land)

Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart are both on FamilyNet/Rural TV.

Unfortunately, my cable company (Time Warner) doesnt carry FamilyNet, ME TV, Antenna TV, Retro TV, etc. I wish Roku would carry these channels.
