GOOD GOD - TALK RADIO GETS WORSE AND WORSE AROUND HERE

I tuned in WPRO and WSAR this afternoon. Both had the most god awful programming ever. The same political crap on WPRO and the most boring School System talk you've ever heard on WSAR. I think I'll stay away from afternoon radio for a while until things get better. There is nothing the least bit interesting going on at the moment. Maybe I should try WHJJ. But I think I'm scared. It would probably be equally as bad. Someone tell me I'm right so I don't waste my time. When does Depetro start again??
 
As far as when DePetro starts it was today. I don't listen to talk radio but tuned in to see if anything controversial was going on or if I could hear people throwing things in the background but it sounded like all politics and senior citizens calling in thrilled that he's back. So that's my brief experience with talk radio. I'll listen again when a line-up changes for a few minutes. Back to the music.

Yeah I tuned away from Stern for about a half hour and listed to Depetro. Glad he's back. Glad that he'll bring some fun back to local radio. I'll listen mornings after Stern ends his day. So that amounts to about an hour of Depetro each day in my house. Welcome back John!
 
I turned to WSAR for a while whil ein the car today. I am appalled at the host who is on from 10 a.m., I have attempted to listen to him on previous occassions. When he began about death certificates for aborted fetuses, this comes under the HIPPA Law, just what we need John Salvo's checking the deaths in towns and going after these women. Then what is with calling democrats Communists, do some of these talk hosts know what Communism is??

Are you speaking about Mike Moron? I believe that is the gentleman at 10AM. I am not to familiar with his radio show. I don't think I have ever listened. I know that Happy Hec keeps a job there because he has a history of schmoozing up to the Karam Brothers. Talk about "CALLING IT IN". He has ZERO show preparation. The hardest part of Hec's job is walking to the station mailbox to gather all the Birthday wishes he's going to read.

Their Mid day programming has no rhyme or reason. It's a grab bag of different hosts each day. That's a sure sign of amateur broadcasting when you have rotating hosts on the regular schedule.

Then I get the ear plugs out for afternoon drive. They can't take the shrieking. It's not fun for me to hate on people.....But with Keri Rodriquez I am finding more and more reasons not to like her. The constant claims of being number one in a market where there is "NO COMPETITION" is just plain silly. Then someone with an Arbitron book came here and stated that Kerry is not number one in ANYTHING! So I think she blows a lot of smoke. In the end there is no legitimate substance to many of her claims. I do give her props for doing her homework though. Lots of show prep. But it's on topics that I personally find boring. That's no fault of hers. I just don't live near Fall River, so I honestly couldn't give a crap about what happens there. She mine as well talk about GUAM. It would be the same thing to me. She still needs to get rid of those Awful News and traffic sounders too. As Program Director she is trying to turn that place into her own personal Trance club. It sounds way out of place.

I have no clue what goes on between 6 PM and Midnight at that place. But then as far as I'm concerned WSAR comes alive at Midnight with the Nationally syndicated Joey Reynolds show from WOR. Joey took over for Howard Stern after Howard got fired from WNBC. I used to speak to Joey all the time and would listen daily. He's got the type of show that I wish there was a lot more of on the Radio. Just a bunch of friends in the studio hanging out having a good time. None of this political crap you get during the day. Just light hearted fun talk all night long. WSAR should tape Joey's show and just rerun it on a loop. It's clearly the bright spot on a station that has to much darkness.
