Good Huntsville tv/radio stations to intern during college

Hello-

I'm an Atlanta poster but I have a friend in college in Huntsville who's looking for a radio/tv internship...

...anybody with recent history? Which stations are most receptive to this kind of thing?

Sorry, can't be a big help since I don't work in the industry. Just a thought, seems like with all of the budget cuts happening, anyone would love the help of an intern!

This much I know... Bill West at Cumulus is a very good man who has some very good people working for him. I would set my sights on that company and specifically try to be involved with Mojo on WZYP. I believe that's probably the best place in Huntsville to see both the passion for what radio has been and can be as well as the reality of the corporate structure.

I had several interns train under me while working at WZYP but that was under the Athens Broadcasting umbrella not Cumulus. They also have/had TV studios so you would have the opportunity to do some cross training.

I don't think they have TV studios anymore.. the LPTV they had was sold off years ago to a local guy, I actually watched it one day.. saw a local morning show.. then a parade at night.

Dale Jackson and Pamela Furr both lost their producers. If your friend is interested in experiencing some talk radio they would probably love some help.
