Odd that Washington is a top market where only half of the major networks (NBC, Fox) have an O&O (Gannett owns CBS affiliate WUSA).

Meanwhile... It's "the next few weeks" and still only the Houston ABC station has their alarm clock released...

I think DC is Number 9-10 in terms of TV Markets.

CBS had its chance to own channel 9, but didn't want to repurchase the station after selling its minority interest back in the 1950s. It is one of those situations where CBS snoozed and those they have to an affiliate rather than an O&O in Washington.
