Gov. Walker Snubbing Wisconsin African-American Radio Community?

First off...any station or staff that identify their station as a "BlacK" station already project a racist agenda. 2nd...I wonder how many "Black" stations ever invited the Gov. to drop in for a friendly chat about the wonders of Wisconsin BEFORE they had a "beef" with the guy? Quit whining.

This topic has a good probability of going nowhere worthwhile but let's give it a try.

How many media outlets (broadcast and print) are there in Wisconsin that are targeted to specifically reach the Black community? Are there any outside of Milwaukee?

Since Governor Walker held a very significant political position in Milwaukee before becoming governor, the question someone could answer for us is this: What kind of relationship did Scott Walker have with Black oriented media in Milwaukee before he became governor?

And no, a station that identifies with the Black community is not automatically projecting a racist agenda. I sold advertising for a station identified with the Black community back in the bumpy days of the Civil Rights era and we DID NOT project a racist agenda.

...I have no idea what the current situation is, since it's been seven years since I lived in the market, but in Madison the only attempt to serve the heavily African-American community on the city's south side was a weekly two-hour R&B show on WORT, buried late on Saturday nights. An attempt to crank up a weekday newscast for that community circa '87 was tossed aside by WORT's then-management, who were still trying to figure out how to flip the station to a New Age format without pissing off the audience they already had. I was briefly involved in a group that tried to buy out WIBU Poynette and apply a combined CCM/Black Gospel format to appeal more to Madison area listeners, but the money guys in that project couldn't keep their own egos in check to work with each other and that project sank without a trace. On the East and South Sides of Madison, it was common to see the old rooftop-type TV antennae pointed eastward, so as to hook them up to stereo systems and try to pick up WLUM and/or (later) WKKV from Milwaukee/Racine. For a brief stretch, WGLB Port Washington carried National Black Network news, but nobody other than the staff at that station seemed to notice, and the service evaporated before long...

...why, hello Mr. Belling. Are we to assume you're about to start applying your singular brand of ignorance here as well?...
