"Governor Pampers" ??? Dana Hersey Fall Off The Polo Pony Wagon?

I've only been a member for a couple of months but I get the distinct impression that Casablanca is a liberal socialist who hates anyone that isn't. I know, I know.....I have an incredible grasp of the obvious.

As for Casablanca's educational reference to Gov. Patrick. Let's not forget that the current Commander in Chief has an undergrad degree from Yale and an MBA from the Harvard B school. Any other questions?

Casa,

Why is Everything a Black/White Issue with you ? The Gov may have a great education background but hundreds of thousands do...That's not the point....The Gov should apologize for being a bought corporate hack who promised the world to the lemmings and will never come through....All is fair in the world of radio and thats why we have jobs and you only have posts.

You have very few supporters here so find somewhere to fit in and not start something stupid and try to spin things around in your favor...Oh wait a minute...Maybe the Gov's office has a spot for you.....They do nothing and make it seem like they do....Here come high taxes,no property tax drops and 3 more years of spending.

Casa, enough with the hate already.

By picking on Dana Hersey, you have lowered yourself to a new level and appear to have lost the sympathy of those who tended to agree with you (albiet politically) when you pick on Howie Carr and others. Basically, Dana is a New England broadcasting institution who seems to be universally popular....starting from his "Movie Loft" days. And, he does have a great voice. Always has.

My suggestion to you is to balance your continued criticisims of others with compliments for those who are good at what they do. Such is the case with Hersey. And, frankly, who in the heck cares about a silly v.o. that makes a joke about "Free 'em all" Deval Patrick? For cryin' out loud, it's just a silly joke (and not even a good one). For every anti-Democrat joke on the airwaves, there are probably 10 anti-conservative ones. We all need to be tolerant.

By the way, you come off sounding like Hugo Chavez in trying to censor anything that displeases you in the least. And that is not someone that you would want to emulate.

I know it is next to impossible for you to stick to the issue at hand.
Dana Hersey's remarks "Governor Pampers" is insulting and gratuitous.
It would be the same if it were said about Mitt Romney, or Kerry Murphy Healy.

Is is an anti-intellectual diversion by some of you to try to switch the focus from Dana Hersey to Casablanca, but it will not work.
You have no idea what my political direction is and what does that matter.

Dana Hersey made a fool of himself. I have been in his presence behind a live mic where he has done this before and this poster is calling him on it.

As to being alone in this crowd, it brings to mind the great line from Groucho Marx [ no not related to Karl]," I wouldn't want to be part of any club that would have me."

Dana Hersey needs to apologize for his dipsomanicial remarks.

With the huge story of classical perhaps turning into jock talk here, and the setup of a Boston-based
regional sports network guaranteed to make Wolfe throw some more glass awards around his office
(if he still works there), might I suggest the Pampers thing is kind of trivial and there are more
interesting things to discuss? :)

By the way, I want every single radio or TV talk host, comedian, politician, or newspaper writer to
immediately apologize for disparaging remarks they made about our President. I am extremely offended
and have hired the law firm of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe* to press my demand for a $100 million
payout. Casablanca may be similarly offended, and also could cash in. Litigation nation, people :)

*--offices located in Harvard Square; they currently represent two auto repair guys who do a radio
show and will soon branch out into a cartoon to air on PBS.

It is all part of the sad fabric that has become Boston radio. The potential passing of a commercial classical radio station in this area makes clear the Barbarians are at the gate. Dana Hersey et al is just one of them.

The quote is, "Please accept my resignation. I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member.”

and, at least as far as I know, Dana Nersey never uses the 3rd person when speaking about himself. ::)

It begs the question, why keep listening if you hate it so much, but then again, people pick at scabs all the time too...

Just heard Dana Hersey, the voice over minimum wage guy on WRKO,

Whaddya know, we have something in common. Neither one of us has any idea what Dana Hersey makes.

refer to Governor Deval Patrick as "Governor Pampers". What the heck did he mean by that?

Probably Patrick's rep, with some folks, for coddling criminals and treating the electorate like children. Only you seem to think it has anything to do with incontinence. I assume that Patrick's digestive tract is working fine, but you may know more about this and evidently do.

Has Dana enjoyed one too many trips over the bar again or fallen off his poloponies once too often.

If Hersey has managed to convert minimum wage into unlimited bar bills and a string of polo ponies, he should get a job as a financial advisor.

All Hersey has to show for his years in broadcasting is to end up as a second rate voice over guy on a failing station.

Yes, working for WRKO does put him beyond the pale, doesn't it.

When I was a kid in high school, I got fired from a job at Friendly's. In the 40+ years since, I've somehow managed to avoid devoting my life to badmouthing Fribbles and tuna melts and making myself look genuinely silly. Oftentimes, it is in a person's best interests to just move on.

I Think you owe Governor Deval Patrick an apology. NOW !

Why?

TSB

D.H. made money the old fashioned way, he married it.

Really? Where? love to hear 'em.... ;D

Heck, everybody says liberals don't have a sense of humor. This is good news.

I wonder how successful Deval would have been if there was no "affirmative action"
poltical correctness for quotas) involved. We will never know. When college/law school admissions, job interviews use random numbers only (ex.- social security numbers)
for applicants then it will be truly a merit-only based system. At that point, let the chips fall where they may , and stop the WHINING, once and for all...

The issue is Dana Hersey and his on-air remarks. He has has a pattern over the years of such behavior. Perhaps, when you have hung out with Bob Gamere too much in too many high proof establishments that is the end result.

you're on.

but, you may be surprised at the result... ;)

be sure to read the last paragraph.... Boys aren't doing as well in college because they believe the deck is stacked in their favor and they will still get the good jobs. And, the data show they're right. Now, that's affirmative action.

No - the issue is Constitutionally protected FREE SPEECH. If there were not free speech for ALL (not just those who agree with you), nobody would be subjected to your rantings. Suck it up and get over it! Stop the WHINING! At what point will you ever admit that maybe you just can't make the cut on your own (lack of) merits? Whine, whine, whine...

Well put - amen! ;D

>>there are probably 10 anti-conservative ones.

which you can hear often on reg. or cable TV, the blogosphere, lib talk radio (what little there is),
Net messageboards, magazines, newspapers, movies, musical concerts...

I'm afraid that young ladies had all the glamour 'wait on customer' jobs. I was employed as what I would call a "Dish, Glass, and Flatwear Cleanliness Technician." I don't recall them actually giving me anything special to wear, just whatever I wore in. This was back around 1964. I think the waitresses and counter people did wear distinguishing shirts, though.

It was a new store (Quincy Ave, in Quincy) and I was part of the original crew. I do remember that at the end of every evening shift, the manager told us to make ourselves whatever we wanted. We all made ice cream sundaes the size of bowling balls. When we got our first paychecks, we found out that they had charged us for the ice cream, although at a lower, 'Friendly' price. Sonuvabitch!!

One Washington's B'Day weekend, my father had told me we were going to go to a cottage we were building in NH, and he needed me to help with the wiring. I told my manager at Friendly's, and he told me I had to work that weekend. I went to NH. and when I returned discovered that I was a former employee.

My wife thinks it's funny to tell people that I was fired from a place named Friendly's.

TSB
