I tried to go to bed at 6am this morning but as I was scanning the dial in my bed I noticed that Q 107.3 out of Columbus was clear and a Urban station on 105.7fm. So I got up and turned the directional antenae to the south west and WOW. Ever since 107.5 came on the air I have not been able to get 107.3 from this location but i was still getting a good signal from the WMVV translator on 107.1 (good under normal conditions) but 107.5 was basically missing. I am 88 miles away from the 107.3 transmitter and 7 miles from the 107.1 translator. It took a minute to realize that it was Hot 105.7 out of Montgomery overridding VIVA 105.7 and i'm 155 miles from it. The fartherest reach i got was 102.7 out of Pensacola. Montgomery's 92.3, 98.9, 101.9, 104.3 came in good for me and Im over 120 miles away from them. I then started getting some Birmingham signals as I turned the antenna west and got a decent 93.7, 94.5,96.5,103.7 signal from them.

i even had 95.5 out of dothan coming in good with no sign of our 95.5 bleeding in for 15 minutes./

I had some fun....more on the TV successes on the Atlanta TV board.

It's that time of year. Tropospheric ducting is a strange phenomenon that seems more prevelent in the southern parts of the country. Thermal inversions also pop up along the coast from time to time.
It's interesting science .

Yesterday morning in the car on the way to work my two best catches were WGLF Gulf 104.1 in Tallahassee, FL over Kiss 104.1 in Sandy Springs and 97.3 WRAK from Bainbridge, GA.

Almost made me want to go back home and take the day off so I could check it out with the APS-13 antenna and the Sangean HDT-1x
