Green Acres And Mama's Family: The I Network In General

Boy,I am very glad that the I Network has shown both Green Acres and Mama's Family starting tonight. That makes me happy to have classic shows like that back on the schedule. I have read on Wikipedia's site about the I Network in that there will be a bunch of shows added to the list from the library of Warner Brothers and Sony Entertainment. I can't wait to see Alice,Starsky and Hutch,Bewitched,I Dream Of Jeannie,Wonder Woman,The Wonder Years, etc. back on the schedule especially for those who don't have TV Land or can't stand Nick at Nite's running every show into the ground. I wonder when the I network will get these shows running because I will be watching a lot from the I network :)

The question, though, is will "i" shed some infomercial time for these clasic shows, or keep to the same mostly-infomercial format, with the classic shows going to the digital Pax/i channel?

Given that TV Land is moving increasingly to
shows of the '70s and '80s, I Network might
be the place for I Love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke,
Andy Griffith, and Leave It To Beaver, all of
which TV Land appears to be phasing out.

And why doesn't somebody carry my two
favorite '70s sitcoms: The Odd Couple and
The Bob Newhart Show?

I read on SitcomsOnline.COM that the i Network will gradually start phasing in the new programming instead of launching all the new programming at once to avoid losing their existing audience. To me this make sense.

That might make sense..if "I" had any existing audience to begin with

Right on! For 3 wks I thought I was watching this on The Hallmark Channel (which is right next-door on my cable system). Inability to remember who they are can't be good for the ratings book!

Someone somewhere actually buys things that they see on infomercials. They are the "i" audience. Those folks are probably wondering what 800 number to call to buy the things Mr. Haney tries to sell Mr. Douglas...:)

The Hallmark Channel has cut out all classic sitcoms except for MASH. I would have thought that they could have become competition for TV Land, but they've become mostly dramas and movies except for MASH.

I would definitely like to see I go to being more classic TV and give Nick at Night and TV Land some real competition. Also, I hope that they will at least cut back on infomercials.

Thankfully my cable system carries the I national feed. WPXX channel 50 in Memphis has switched to My Network TV in prime time, which means at least for now I is only on during the time when it's mostly infomercials. :-\
