Groupe Medias Pam to take over the troubled CJMS 1040 Saint-Constant

Groupe Medias Pam received approval today to acquire the assets of CJMS 1040 in Saint-Constant, Quebec from 3553230 Canada Inc. A whole whack of conditions from the CRTC have been attached to the ownership change.

Groupe Médias will acquire the assets for $15,000 and an hours worth of advertising airtime per week for 52 weeks. The applicant did not propose any tangible benefits, noting that the radio undertaking was experiencing financial difficulties and that investments would be needed to make the station financially viable. The format will remain French language Country..

Groupe Medias owns and operates Haitian language station CJWI 1410 in Montreal (aka: C-PAM Radio Union).

I hope they can breathe some life into that station. It does have a small audience, and I hope they can grow it. It's the only French language country station in the area.
