GSN gets "$ale" and more of "PYL," among other things

How much are classic Price is Right episodes?

I would love to see a run of the old Dennis James-hosted nighttime TPIR. He was hilarious! My Dad and I watched just to see what inadvertantly funny thing he would do.

That, and some of the 1990s and 2000s Barker TPiR. From my understanding, I think the latest episode of Price run on GSN (before they took it off) was 1990 or 1991. I know Barker had gray hair by then.
And how 'bout the Doug Davidson 1994 TNPiR? I don't think that was ever run on GSN in reruns.

Watching an ep of "$otC" right now on GSN. They're airing a theme week "True Romance" and it just seems....incredibly scripted.

And not even good scripted.

It's like they're trying to hard to not make it seem scripted that it comes across as one of those scenes from a family sitcom when someone is trying to hide someone that the character(s) obviously overact. From the contestant's "back story" to even the reactions when they answer a question.

It's almost hard to watch, it's so cheesy. Were all their episodes like this?

I think GSN would be amazed at how many young viewers enjoy the 50's and 60's game shows. I believe they are missing out of something that could be a great profit maker. "You Bet Your Life" and "What's My Line" are hits whoever the audience is.

Those first few shows of $ale that comprised "True Romance" were complete busts on the money rounds (the Winners' Big Money Game). No one took it whatsoever. Some came very close, however.

no they're not this cheezy

But I do like that badass cell phone the winner got today

Of course! With the telescopic antenna and clumsy device to boot! It was the days...

Nice that GSN got $ale of the Century. How about adding the Chuck Woolery "Scrabble" while they're at it?
