GSN REVEALS THEIR NETWORK FUTURE (ODD SHOWS SIMILAR TO THOSE SEEN ON RTV)

http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.c...ns-to-add-reality-tv-to-its-game-show-roster/

Highlights.......from now thru 2013

Newlywed Game continues (blah, blah boring)
new version of $100,000 Pyramid in the works
American Bible Challenge (Jeff Foxworthy will do the pilot episode)
more reality shows (I mean is this GSN or RTV we're talking about)
Beat The Chefs (people vs. chefs for $50,000 prize)
Pure Gold (gold selling with seller profiles)
Family Trade (they sell cars for barter)
War of The Rose Sisters (sister auctioneers)
Crowning Glory (unusual beauty contests)
I Do, Now I Don't (company sells used engagement rings)

Maybe they should just sell out to Luken and let him program GSN for them....as many of these
shows sound like they were invented by the master himself (or turned down by RTV).

This is getting WAY out of hand. Can't they show GAME shows instead, since that's their full name? Is there a way to not have reality shows creep into the network?

Another reason I cut the cord. There are enough game shows on the broadcast networks for me. No music on MTV, no weather on TWC....why pay for this junk? Every decent network has been destroyed by reality garbage. :-\

According to this thread Dancing With The Stars has done ok for them but it hasn't done great
http://www.gsn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4534 (seems like they would learn something from that about showing reality).

In it's 2nd week (in January) D.W.T.S. lost this much audience from it's lead in shows
Friday Smarter Than 5th Grader 35% loss
Saturday Newlywed Game 47% loss
Sunday 1 vs. 100 60% loss http://buzzerblog.flashgameshows.com/week-two-of-dancing-with-the-stars-on-gsn-continues-to-dive/

I think those in charge at GSN are driving it into the ground.

Gimmie a break!!!!!!!!!

While I like the idea of a new series of "The $100,000 Pyramid" (if done right and with respect), the folks at the Game Show Network should use their money to show more older game shows and creating more traditional game shows. When I read the phrase, "real-life game shows" in reference to the other shows being developed, I thought it was silly because it implies traditional game shows are not part of real life.

As long as someone with a little more pizzazz than Donny Osmond is the host, I'm all for a revival of Pyramid.

Later . . . .

I like the idea of a remake of Pyramid, but make it more like the Dick Clark version rather than the Donny Osmond version. I agree I'd rather see GSN do more remakes of classic game shows than the reality junk.

I'm surprised that the Bible game show is coming to GSN. That sounds something more like would be on TBN, INSP, etc.

They're trying to be like the History Channel with Pawn Stars. I used to watch GSN religiously. Even a couple years ago, they had a good classic game show lineup. Only at night did they show all the originals. Forget about the old days 10 years ago or more when they had every Sony game show, and rights to nearly every classic show. Now, Match Game and Family Feud are two of the few shows remaining from the old GSN.

Bingo America with Richard Kahn?
Wipeout with Chuck W.?
Hollywood Squares with Peter Brady?
Two Minute Drill with Kenny M.?
Sports Jeopardy with Lou Anderson?
Sports Millionare with Karl Ravech?
