Guadalupe Radio Network purchases stations in Pensacola, Tallahassee, and Blountstown

News broke today that Texas based Guadalupe Radio Network has purchased the assets of Pensacola's Divine World Radio including 4 stations in Alabama and 4 more in Florida.

This purchase included WDWR 1230/103.3 W277CC Pensacola and the CP for W262AR Brewton. Could Spanish Catholic radio be coming to Pensacola? Or at least to WYBT 1000 in Blountstown?

Likely English Catholic radio, mostly from EWTN. They bought KCOH here in Houston, which led some of us to thing it would be Spanish language, but it was not. Check out KSHJ 1430 Houston, Poledo. That should give you an idea of what's to come for you guys.

This purchase includes a 25kw FM/AM combo in Blountstown and an AM/translator combo in Pensacola along with the CP for a second Pensacola translator.

what do they do with the extra overlapping signals in Blountstown and Pensacola? Spanish or sell them? Hummm...

Another oddity, this deal doesn't appear to include WDWR's CP for class A WVLQ 101.9 in Port Saint Joe. Port St. Joe might actually have some Spanish speaking Catholics.

I'm not really sure which tread to post this to.

When Gene Church sold Devine Word Radio/WDWR to La Promesa Foundation he kept the controversial new translator tower in Downtown Pensacola out of the deal.

Now it's time for round 3? The North Hill Preservation Society, that regularly approves painting Victorian mansions beach colors like pink, just can't stand seeing that new tower.
