Hallmark Channel to air Christmas movie marathon as more people self-quarantine

https://kdvr.com/news/trending/hall...ovie-marathon-as-more-people-self-quarantine/

(WJW) – As many folks remain at home to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Hallmark Channel is stepping up to help provide some cheerful entertainment.

According to Entertainment Tonight, a special Christmas movie marathon is scheduled for this weekend to help ease the nation’s social isolation. It starts on Friday March 20 at 12 p.m. and ends on Sunday, March 22 at 6 p.m.

Not really shocking given that shows have stopped production at this point.

The Christmas movies can wait until after Thanksgiving because Christmas is getting too commercialized. Before long, it will be Christmas in July, August, September, etc.

BARF!
Then BARF again!
And BARF a third time.

And don't any FM stations DARE flip to Christmas music. I mean it.

Update KEZK will air Christmas music on Friday

Entercom AC 102.5 KEZK St. Louis will make the move to Christmas music on Friday, March 20 at 5pm.

The station states it is doing so to “to lift spirits as the coronavirus quarantine continues”. It is following on the heels of Hallmark Channel doing a Christmas movie marathon this upcoming weekend and people re-hanging their Christmas lights.

Hallmark has been doing Christmas themes throughout the year for several years. This is not unexpected. Obviously, it works for a certain audience or they wouldn't do it. But for me, it is sacriligious, stupid, and an immediate tune-out.

As we always say: Different strokes for different folks. I know this lady who keeps a Christmas tree in her living room all year. I'm not kidding. She changes the decorations to suit the time of year. She always has a smile on her face.

I wouldn't be surprised if more FM stations follow this quarantine holiday trend. SHHHH. Don't tell a particular Seattle FM station that's just below 107mhz on the dial....
