Hanna Scott, KFI News, What Happened? Fired by Handle?

Anyone know what happened to Hanna Scott at KFI? She left the station under very "quiet" circumstances.

Has the wrath of Bill Handel shown itself again?

She didn't sound too thrilled every time Handel tried to berate her or try to be "funny" towards her when he was insulting.

Just curious.

Oh... Will Bill's "Reputation Defender" service come and erase this negative comment? ha.

I have no idea why KFI goes through so many women on Handle's shift. Does anyone know? I've heard this complaint numerous times and am beginning to think where there's smoke...
Seems like there'd more about this story available unless there's some sort of understanding that these women would get bad references if they talked or signed an agreement to shut up about it for some reason. Maybe it's someone else in the station staff who's the problem.
On the other hand, maybe these stories are just designed by 'evil doers' to smear Handle's reputation for some reason and he's actually a gem to work with.
I don't know what to think anymore but the interest is growing with every disappearance.

Handle's new radio competition on KRLA (Mr. Beck) seems to be goofier than he was advertised although I admit to listening to him very little yet. It's a busy time of day for me.

Yeah, KFI's gone through a lot of women in that morning position: Hanna Scott, Jodi Becker and Ken Gallacher. That's a lot of turn over since 1984.

So apparently it's just not true? It's all just a campaign to defame Handle? That's interesting. Thanks for your post. It's time to put up or shut up then for posters who claim otherwise.

I admit to being a pot stirrer here.

Ken Gallecher, while not a woman unless he has had surgery, left to retire to the bucolic life in Virginia.

Jodi Becker left to marry her fiance who works, also for CC, in Milwaukee.

They have had a lot of turnover I suppose in KFI news in general but more likely due to budget constraints and people leaving for better opportunities. A lot of the news anchors on weekends have been people out of work or underemployed who took the job to keep some ties to their career in broadcasting. Having KFI on you resume could not hurt when seeking a better job.

I suspect that being a foil for Handel's brand of humor can be a not to pleasant job for some and coupled to the early hour I can't blame someone for leaving but it is likely unfair to blame it all on Bill.

KFI news, in general, has had very little turn over. David Hall, Mark Thomas and Chris Little are the only news directors that place has had for the past 20 years. Terri Rae Elmer has been anchoring the news for something like 18 years. Michael Clarke has been there for about the same amount of time. Little has been there since 1996 and was a fill-in reporter beginning in '91. Gary Hoffmann and Steve Gregory have been there for several years. And so has Aron Bender, who replaced Leah Brandon. Laura Ingle went to Fox and Hanna was fired.

On the morning show you had Paul the Wall, Lara and now Todd. That's not a huge turnover. Five or six people in 20 years. THAT's a lot turnover? You guys need to pay attention. Maybe you're listening to Radio Disney.

The core news people, have indeed been there for quite so time but the people who work weekends and some field reporters have come and gone. But in terms of overall turn over not so much. The evening position on KFI has been somewhat turbulent though hopefully TC Jr. will stick.

However getting back to Handel, Three board ops in 20 years? How many shows can say that?

Two news anchors, Galacher and now Hoffman, not too shabby for longevity I'd say.

Rich has been there from the beginning, actually predates Handel, though there was some speculation on here that Handel might prefer Petros.

The other news position is usually just the morning reporter going extra duty so I'm not sure that is a good indication. This is not to say that working with Bill is all sunshine and roses, I suspect he can be quite difficult as the not so long ago dust up with Jamie White might indicate.

I must admit that I do not listen so much now as I live in another state, Iowa, but when I lived there I was a regular daily listener to Bill Handel. I still check the pod casts though for Dick Cabeza and such, and my local outlet carries HOTL.

I do not think that Bill can actually fire someone but of course as one of the station's stars like J & K he could make it difficult to stay (think Ziegler). John Kobylt might have just as well canned JZ and I'm sure Bill has equal or more juice with management.
