HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ARNIE "WOO WOO" GINSBURG

I know it's either today or tomorrow, and I'm guessing it's his 83rd, give or take a year. What a career in the biz..as an engineer, and then DJ at WBOS (1600 AM) in the mid-50s, through his WMEX personality years ('58-'67), into management and station (radio & TV) ownership. Amazing what you could accomplish when radio was a great industry to be involved in.

His birthday is today - 5 August 1926.....

The story goes that in late 1964 or early 1965, my dad took me, as an infant, to WMEX during one of Arnie's air shifts. Apparently, while he had the mic open, Woo Woo picked me up and held me in his arms while on the air. Hope I didn't spit up on his shirt.

Happy birthday, Arnie!!!!

It was not so long ago that I saw "Woo-Woo" having brunch in a restaurant in southern Maine where he lives in retirement and he looked GREAT! It was my good fortune to have him on a talk show I did in college and he was a total professional. It's a little late but...Thanks Arnie!
