(Please Dis-reguard my earlier post on this board)

(read this one and watch a 4 minute video here instead)

Can somebody on this board PLEASE help me out here....

I have been watching my DVDs on Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley in my collection, and serveral people have been asking me about the band that keep re-appearing on these re-occouring episodes, by asking me, "Say! Who or what in the heck is that band! and what is the named of that group keeps re-occouring on both Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley?"

I have been trying to figure this out for years! and why is it has to be that band? What about Ritchie, Raulph and Potsey? aren't they just as good as that unknown band were?

So Why did Garry Marshall had chosen an unknown band without any name, nor even no credits were shown on at the end of the show???...

thank you very much
Bob

Probably because he's the one playing the drums.

That clip reminds me how lame Happy Days became. Too bad, I'd put the first two seasons quality up against any sitcoms. Happy Days lost its way (jumped its own shark)when Fonzie started wearing leather jackets.

I maintain it lost its way once they began letting the lead characters have "1970's" hair, as opposed to the earlier "almost 1950's" haircuts
for the guys. Same thing happened to the women's hair and clothes, too, but it was less grating and obvious to me.

I remember the early 60's well. Hair policy for boys was inflexible at best.
Your hair wasn't allowed to go over the edge of your ear. Ideally you had a "whitewall" around the ear, and a fresh crew cut.
The Beatles ( and their hair) were extremely controversial in 1964.

In my neck of the woods, Southwestern USA, teen male hair was relatively unchanged from the late 50's through the early 60's. Most guys wore some form of "greaser" cut (similar to Fonzie's). The jocks wore flattops or crew cuts. Nobody, but nobody, had "whitewalls" unless they were in the service.

Everything changed when the Beatles arrived. Hair, clothes (especially suits), jewelry, eyeglasses (the Buddy Holly look was definitely out), and shoes (we called the Beatles shoes "roach killers".

While the Beatles got all the publicity the Rolling Stones were the most controversial.

For me Happy Days went downhill when Ron Howard & Donny Most left the show. And Ted McGinley became a regular..
I use to love the promos NBC aired with Mr. T for The A-Team(circa 1982-83) Mr. T would say ' Fonzie Forget About Him'!
'The A-Team Wants You Tuesdays On NBC.. Those were hilarious!

I know it's a movie, but Garry Marshall also appeared in a band in the movie, "Overboard." Somebdoy somewhere should start a thread making a list of the movies Garry Marshall made a cameo appearance in. (just a thought)
