Harvey Holiday to retire from 98.1 WOGL in December

Met him once, very nice...even though he hated playing 80s music. Glad he got a chance to retire and say goodbye.

He is an absolute legend and the last of the Original WOGL DJ's. Very nice of giving him the send off like they are. He deserves this.
Do you think this will result in an even further shift away from 70s and will just result in 80s and early 90s next year??

Also, I wonder how long Bob Pantano's Saturday Night Dance Party will last. This has been on WOGL forever. Any ideas???

Why would the loss of a jock--even a beloved and much revered one--have an impact on the music library?

Regarding the Saturday Night Dance Party: Putting on that show is an expense so there must be an associated revenue stream that we don't know about. Because otherwise, I can't think of a reason for it to still be on. I mean, don't get me wrong: I like the show. But in this (PPM) era of radio, it likely wouldn't matter in the long run if they cancelled the show right now and just let the computer keep playing songs all weekend.
