Has anyone else heard about TBN selling about 36 of their LD station

Yes, all over the country, TBN is unloading most, if not all, of their LPTV stations, and Regal Media has been one of the major buyers. TBN donated about 150 stations to Minority Media and Telecommunications Council, who, in turn, sold a great number of those to Luken Communications.

Not sure how that would be good news, unless you have a problem with TBN. Maybe their content makes you feel bad?

At least one of the stations sold to Regal Media, in central Arizona, is continuing to air TBN programming. It wouldn't surprise me if the others are, also. In addition, TBN has added two full-power stations to its fold, in Davenport IA and Jackson MS.

Nope. Nor self-righteous. (Nothing personal.) I'd simply rather watch a Luken station.

I don't care much for TBN programming myself, but it never occurred to me to think that what pleases me personally was good for the industry as a whole.

Did I say that? Subjectively, this news feels good to me, and it's news about the industry. I doubt the industry as a whole would consider a little item concerning some LPDTs all that important.

Finally! Good industry news for a change!

Sure looks like it.

That's a pretty weak defense, but hey, if you wish to believe it, then I have nothing more to say.

After seeing their amateurish content back in college in the late '90s-early 2000s, this IS welcome news! Do they still use that gaudy gold-lamme-looking set? Is the Tammy Faye Bakker lookalike still on?
