That's exactly my point. You are quick to tell us how much money you make. I don't think most PDs are comfortable hiring somebody who makes more than their boss. If you don't need the job. If you act like you are better than the PD, and more successful than the VP, there is a good chance you could be into the job only for you not for the station. I know you want to do it as a hobby, but your hobby is somebody elses career. If you want to do it as a hobby, tell them that, but follow the rules they lay out for your hobby.
