Has WSLY 104.9 FM and WYLS 670 AM In York Gone Silent?

Been wanting to check them out, for the past few days now.

Everytime I surf by there, I've been hearing dead air.

This is especially true of WYLS 670 AM, since I could get them much better than their FM counterpart.

Inquiring minds want to know.

The AM has been off for over a month. You can't run them when you don't sell advertising!
A week or so ago the FM was still on running "Real Country" on satellite, but no local spots.
I heard they turned the power down to save electricity. Wish I had the cash to pick it up. 8)

This probally don't matter much, but every once in a while I can hear 104.9 WSLY, but usually I can't because of 104.7 WZZK and 104.9 WKZU in Iuka. But, the last time I heard them they weren't carrying "Real Country," but JRN's "True Country", which is similar. I don't think they could because of 107.7 WPRN in Butler, which the last time I listened about two years ago was carrying "Real Country."

Our good buddy from WSLY 104.9/WYLS 670, Ken Michaels was let go several months ago.. so I'll go on record as his departure being the cause of this, as he never would've allowed the stations to be off the air.

As i recall hearing, he got into a spat With the owner's (Sarah Grant) son, who then proceeded to leave... and came back a week or two later and Ken was told he was no longer needed.

They really don't know what they're doing and aren't real radio people... the son was favored over Ken simply because the son needed a job.

Your right TallRed... I misspoke... it is True Country instead of Real Country. Sorry... brain lapse.
