Have Emmis and Radio One both shopped FMs in Los Angeles - unsuccessfully?

Just read this, but thoughts on Emmis shopping both LA sticks????
I had heard from "sources" several months ago that Emmis is very concerned about how they will fare in both NY & LA once the rating currency switches to the PPM's. Nothing was said about a sale, just considering options at than time. Me sees a bumpy road for them.

With this current economy, even the Clear Channel deal is in jeopardy. It may fall through with their recent stock prices falling.
Emmis out here does not look good either.

The recent reductions in the Fed rate actually make the deal considerably more doable. The fact that share pices have changed is immaterial as the sale is based on a guaranteed price per share for existing shareholders.

Emmis is profitable, but has problems with some stations. It is not in real jeopardy as it has very little debt.

The Credit Crunch pretty much makes deals next to impossible nowadays. And in the case of 100.3 and 93.9 the formats would have to be changed which costs extra money which no one really has right now.

Emmis and Radio One have really done it. Really done it.

Actually, the last reduction in the Fed rate will make financing less expensive, making many more deals doable. Banks are in the business of lending, and they will lend. While there are tighter restrictions on mortgages, there is no similarity with business lending which continues on nicely.

flip 100.3 to gospel

Gospel would do worse then what they have right now. Gospel is definetly a black thing(no latino dominated market has a sucessful Gospel station.)

I'm sorry to say Gospel isn't only a black person's kind of thing. I think that was a really good thing to put out there. There is all sorts of races into gospel music. But I really don't see 100.3 going to gospel music what so ever. Now if they go Country that maybe a way to go to compete with KKGO or even try a lil soft rock to compete with KOST 103.5.
