HBO has a new TV series called "The Newsroom"

This show is supposed to be about CNN, HLN, MSNBC and Fox News behind closed doors. I know its a scripted show done by actors. Since the show is aired by a Time Warner O&O this show is subjected to have a CNN bias.

Because it AIRS on HBO, it is "subjected to have a CNN bias"?!? Another example of an American who was NOT taught critical reasoning skills in school. What an illogical statement!

Thanks for the correction again I do remember FX did a show called "Dirt" in 2006-2007 and it was supposed to be about TMZ and Murdoch's UK Tabloid operations and News Corp never objected to the series and that was a good show too.

I watched the pilot Sunday night and thought it was brilliant, just like almost everything else Aaron Sorkin touches. I hope it lasts; Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (Sorkin's last series), while not without its flaws, wasn't given a fair shot.

HBO has made the pilot available free of charge on several platforms--to subscribers and non-subscribers. It's currently on HBO's own website, YouTube, DailyMotion, TV.com and iTunes. It's also free on several cable/satellite providers' on demand services right now.

The Simpsons and other Fox shows trash Rupert Murdoch all the time - even to the point of showing animated versions of him that are none too flattering. As long as he keeps making the money, I doubt he cares.

Does anybody remember the HBO 2003 movie "Live from Baghdad"? This movie was about the 1991 CNN crew preparing for Iraq war I. I think the Newsroom series from HBO kind of resemble that movie from 2003.

They reference Faux and CNN, but not MSNBC? Maybe cause this fictional network is going to be the "liberal" network and MSNBC does not exist in this world?

Its just the First Episode we have to wait for the rest of the season. The Problem here is that Too Many Ron Burgundy's run CNN, Fox and MSNBC and not enough Walter Cronkites, Peter Jennings, Scott Pelly and Bernard Shaw Run the Show.
