My wife tore down my 200' long-wire antenna in the woods behind my house that I used for AM and Shortwave. I don't really care. I can get everything I want to listen to (including all the international broadcasters I like) on my Revo Blik internet radio.

See if you can talk her into a "K9AY Loop", which will fit into less than a 20 foot radius. I built one a couple of years ago and it does a great job from longwave up through the AM band to 40 meters. I have three loops on a common fiberglass mast, separated in azimuth by 60 degrees. The null on each can be flipped 180 degrees, which gives me a choice of six directional "cardioid" patterns.

I listen to a lot of internet radio too, but I think it's still important to maintain a system of long-distance communications that doesn't rely on fiber or coax networks, giant telecom corporations, or digital electronic components which must be imported from overseas.

Good points all, Play Freebird. Truth be told, I'd LOVE to fire up my Drake SW8 again!

I say good riddance to analog TV. DTV gets better reception. I use a amplified DTV Smart Antenna. Plus the closest station station in the Columbus Ohio area that carries Lou Dobbs is WCLT AM. I can't pick up WCLT AM but I can pick up WCLT FM HD sub carriers on my HD100 just fine. I can pick up WTAM 1000AM from Cleveland Ohio and 1530AM The Homer from Cincy during daytime on my HD100.

Well there are Rooftop antennas out there to connect to ATSC tuners. Quit being a Luddite, J.H. II, analog is dying and good riddance.

J.H. II, Shout! Factory, a DVD vendor did released two best of volumes of The Electric Company. You should watch them to learn spelling and grammar structure from Rita Moreno, Bill Cosby, and Morgan Freeman. There are individual episodes on iTunes as well.

Will and everyone else: please note that JH is visually impaired and participates in this forum despite his physical challenge.

Please cut him some slack with language, spelling and useage. He is doing the best he can with the software he is able to utilize.

The irony of one poster lecturing another on "grammar structure" should be obvious..... ::)

Savage don't beat your self up on your poor grammar structure. Plus I'm visual impaired and I don't used it as a crutch.

Obviously "empathy" impaired as well. Does the that you and JH share the same disability give you license to be rude?
