It better be really cheap or you will be right. 20 years ago, I thought the TM-152 was a bit pricey at $60, but I got one anyway and it has proved to be the best local AM tuner I have, even though the local stations have abandoned C-Quam. If they sell a TM-152 like IBOC tuner, priced $60 to $90, I might consider it as an auxiliary, local only type of tuner. Serious listening will still be on my Fisher AM-80 for non-IBOC AM stations, and one of my DX tuners for non-IBOC FM stations. I might as well get some benefit from this technology - while it lasts. I think it will probably be as obsolete as my TM-152 in 20 years.

As someone who spent several years working for RatShack, that is the honest to goodness truth. And that is why they are becoming more and more irrelevant to electronics consumers.

Remember the Digital Compact Cassette? It was a digital tape recorder that used ordinary cassettes instead of DAT tapes. That went over like a lead balloon. It also wound up on the discount shelf. I also remember Radio Shack still sold 8 Tracks long after they were history. They must have had an extra supply.

It's the beggening of the end for Rat Shack.
I say it's completley gone by 2020.
